Come on guys! How long have the PCV mags been available on the market and not a peep from the RCMP! For sure they know about them so I say for the price buy and try.
I'm kind of in that boat - even with helpful members giving me the time of day to explain "up-to-this-point-etc." So, from what I "know" of the situation - it's still only heresy (don't hate/ban me!) - may be in error, but 'tolerance issues' caught early, are never a game changer - I have personally witnessed plenty of unaltered magazines from old and reputable firearms companies returned; due to forgotten rivets, etc. And imagine that! They didn't cause a mass shooting when they transferred hands to a Canadian!
This is hardly a topic of Type97A vs 97NSR, etc. If is due to A.A. .50 Beowulf licensing issues, it should hardly be a surprise that a product would be copied/modified to compete with the, original, propreity ones. Even to the most obtuse at the rcmp. Why, I imagine Norinco would cry should they ever, unwittingly, tresspass an infringement law! Would everyone breath easier if Norinco made copies called: 'N'AA .50 Beowulf instead? Are their tolerance issues superior to ours?
Disclaimers to this extent, only add good buisness ethics in my book. And a step towards responsible action, prior to the Press & RCMP intervention. And it has the moral high ground that can't be denied by journalists, when correcting a inavertent error.
The RCMP knows why 'we' buy .40 cal. glock mags for a 9mm, 223lar/7.62x39xcr, and now, .50 beowulf+ - when not every gun owner has the respective: .223/7.62xcr/.50beo's firearms & uppers. Global wasn't afraid to use this in their latest campaign of scare tactics...sorry, 'journalism' - and screw'm! If they want to reprint - again - that every Canadian gun owner is 'armed' with the legal-loophole magazines, and not massacring everyone - it only hurts the anti's.
What's better, than to demonstrate the inane laws we are currently following? Pinned, 30+ mags can't be altered - by who? Maybe someone/thing without opposable thumbs? The 5 round law was successfully side-stepped by LAR pistol mags - and no one went/has gone postal for years? AIA .308 mags in... well you get it. The law, among the many we dutifully follow, is utterly asinine - and hasn't prevented a single death in this nation. As some have mentioned in the past, that people feel safer when fewer 'know' the legal truth; so that they can use these best kept secrets for thier own pleasure. I hew to different path:
Fewer people like to know they are stupid.
And with each piece of evidence coming forward, and that is what these spats of articles are, well... Nothing Has Happened. People with no firearm knowledge kept living their days untroubled by reality. But, by 'crying wolf' now with every tragedy in the US? No one has been placed in anymore danger since preC-68 days. Who's victory is that? Ours. The one's licensed, background-checked daily, by the government: before, during, and after any firearm purchase we may, or may not, make. 'Ever.
As far as I am concerned, every party should know about us. What are we now, 2+ million of eligible votes? The faster we fiscally support and unite (maybe even just monetarily) the NFA/CSSA, The faster we become a threat to any operating party. We are a more sizable entity than the NRA in their own country, per capita. NDP, Conservatives, Liberals, etc, should be courting US. Tying ourselves to 1 party, is only doomed to failure. Witholding our votes provincially/federally can potentially make us the 'kingmakers.' They can dance to our tune. The bloc quebecois seemed to have nailed it. I would rather for us to opperat that way amongst all parties. Need that riding? Tough s***. This goes for conservatives aswell. They don't have the stomach for more c-68 repeals. If need be, I will wait an additional 10 years to vote them back in to correct what has been buggered by another party - so long, as they know the hand that feeds them. This can be applied to any party that wishes re election anywhere.
Case in point: the conservatives won't win in BC for years. NDP has many hunters amongst their voters - hence their temerity amongst the firearms. They may hope for a more, liberal?, approach but... they can't win without us. And they must be Made to know that. As of yet, this is my long standing hope amongst fellow fireams enthusiasts. But untill then...
With all of this peace, who knew that Firearms enthusiasts could actively enjoy their sport without going on a rampage? And with only 3(+)x as much firepower 'ta boot?
PS
Again, should there be a 'taboo' that I am unknowingly tresspassing - peace. I can only go by what I have gleaned, from what feels, ironically, like "The one-who-shall-not-be-named -Lord Voldermort," in regards to these 'other' magazines.
Cheers!
