T97 bolt question...

Dumb question... how do you hold the bolt open- say if you want to pass a cable lock through it. Paint me stupid. Thanks.

Use an empty mag or center the rifle on your chest or but down on the bench while charging. While holding the CH to the rear use a finger through the magwell to actuate the last round bolt hold open manually, then ease off on the CH.

other question... I see the Gen 2 has an ambi charging handle. Can you also flip the mag release to the other side? thanks

It has an ambi mag release already, and on the carry handle and FTU models you can add the exact same mag release. I believe its the Norgon AR ambi release.

Yes, take out the gen2 FTU unscrew the charging handle screw at the bottom, pull out the plastic handle then flip and screw back on. If you put the charging handling on the left side you can actually put in the cable lock easier. I usually hold the stock against my chest pull the charging handle and slide in the cable lock.
