Hello every one !

I recently bought a T97 from the EE and it seems like it has some bolt release problem. Last owner said it was barely fired, so it might have to use a bit.

Wondering if thats common or I'm just bad lucky lol...

When bolt is locked open, I can't close it. After 5 minutes playing with the charging handle, it finally release and lock securely in the receiver.

Help me ?

Inspect the mechananism

It i's located at the rear of the mag well.

A small tab that catches the magazine follower.

Without a magazine try cycling the action a few times, then reach in and push up on the bolt catch.

Feel and see how it interacts and where it might be binding.

There should be a spring in on the bolt catch at the rear of the magwell that constantly pushes the bolt catch down when there is no magazine. When empty magazine is inserted, that pushes the bolt catch up locking the bolt open. Its probably stuck because either the spring broke or it seized up because its dirty. Strip it and check if the little bolt catch tab moves smoothly put some oil on it after.

Thanks guys !

I found whats wrong.

The small tab stays in the upper position like it always has an empty magazine insterted.

It looks jammed, how to safely clean ? Should I strip down all the way or use some oil or something ?

See if there's an obstruction or anything binding it in place. The bolt hold-open in retained by the magazine catch. To remove the magazine catch, your first have to unscrew the mag release button. To get it started, I used a pair of pliers.

The bolt hold-open and spring will then drop down from this middle hole, as shown

Thanks a lot !

So I stripped everything down, cleaned, dryed and oiled. problem persist, its smoother now tho... I might sand just a bit the little piece so it moves easier.
