T97 brass launcher

Does everyone else's t97 throw brass into space? Mine throws them about 20 feet away. That's on gas setting one. Setting two I think would fire the brass faster than the bullet. Thinking about ways to block the gas a little to reduce this. Might be easier on the action too.

Just use gas setting #2.

Try the differing gas settings. Try differing ammo too.

Reminds me of following the break in instrucions on my XCR.
I must have had to cross the fence into the neighbours to pick up all that brass!

They all do that, very aggressive extraction for reliability. 2 is the emergency setting for when the gas plug has gotten so fouled it's starts to affect the cycling of the rifle. I've found that using setting 2 on a perfectly clean rifle may cause feed malfunctions, so just keep it on 1.

I owned a T97 and my brass went into orbit on any gas setting. I couldn't even collect brass because there was a nice dent in the casing. I just came to accept it.

You could put a catcher on it. There is a thread on softening the blow that involves some drilling of one of the ports (the 0 position). You might want to look it up.
