T97 magazine wobble (help t97 owners)

I got 8 mags for my t97 (which i haven't shot yet) 7 d&h 5/30 rounders and 1 RRA LAR pistol magazine. When I insert the magazines, they feel very wobbly, almost like how ak mags fit?

this worries me because of potential for FTFs and the like, though i chambered some snap caps and they worked perfectly, even wobbly as they are... they wobble fore and aft and a little side to side as well, not enough for the bullet to dip down enough to hit the feeding ramps in a way that would cause failure that I can see (again i have not shot it yet so i don't know for sure) but this is troubling!

do any of you type 97 owners have this issue/ has it caused feeding problems?

I know that ironically people have been complaining about the tight fit of magazines rather than wobbly magazines, mine all drop free easily, as you can probably guess.

I wouldn't worry about it until you actually shoot it and it's an issue.

I've seen a Tavor and a CSA vz58 .223 with similar wobbly mag issues and no feeding problems. Probably the tolerances on cheap mags are a bit out of specs, that's all.

I have D&H mags for my T97... just shoot it, it's fine.

your probably right, but are they kinda wobbly on yours too? the mags seem to be well made, and uniform in quality

Yup, mine is the same. The mags only need to hold the round high enough to clear the inlet ramp & get fed by the bolt.

My issued FN C1 back in the stone age was quite wobbly with mags & ran fine.

It's a fair question. Perhaps it's his/her first rifle... mag fed.

Hmmmm that doesn't sound good at all. There's probably some way to fix them. I'll buy them or $7 each as I wouldn't mind messing around with some deficient mags. With some work I might be able to get them back to an acceptable level. It would be an interesting project.

I was joking. I bought 10 D&H mags when they were $15.90 each. Another 10 at $19 each. Excellent mags. To the OP they do fit loose. They also work in every platform that uses AR mags that I've tried. AR, Tavor, T97 no problem!
