Hi everyone, new member and first post so I apologize if this has been asked already. I am wonder who has any experience with the .50 Beowulf mag in the Norinco T97 NSR. I would like to know if anyone has had issues getting them to fit into the T97, if they did how did they resolve them? Any feeding issues? I know I can go for the LAR mags but the .50 Beowulf mag has a number of advantages I'd like. I don't expect them to be drop free but I don't want to need a vice grip to get them out. Looking for the positives and the negatives please as this will help decide if I buy them or not. I am inquiring specifically for the Gen 2 polymer/plastic-whatever they are, mags.

I have the Gen 1 I had to sand down the spine of the mag to fit. It's almost a drop free now. I wouldn't modify the rifle tho. I have zero ftf with the mag I have feeds all 15 rds perfectly

I use both Alexander arms metal beo mags and the PCV beo mags. Both function fine and drop free.
The pcv needed the seam smoothed/broken in a little on the spine to fit easily and drop free. Just the excess material leftover from manufacturing process. Just insert and remove a bunch. But I need to load 1 less in the pcv mag or it will double feed. Other than that works great and shorter than the metal ones.

I am worried about having to sand the mag to make it fit as if I get stopped by the RCMP and they look at the mag and see sanding I am concerned they will say 'Hey, this mag was modified to fit.' and thus give them more cause to give me grief. Has anyone had them fit fine without modification? The decision is between these guys and the LAR15's.

Gen 2 PCV beo mags feed 100% but don't drop free in mine. Not too tight, slightly snug.
C products mags fit great and drop free, feed great if you load 13 or so.. 15 the first often jams.

ummmm , not to go and be Captain Obvious on ya or nuthin , but modifying the magazine to fit the rifle makes said magazine a prohibited device, especially when you post about it on the internet.
I see black helicopters in your future LOL

I bought some of the latest Beowulfs [Gen2] and the first insert I was like OMG its tight. But cycled them in and out a few times and they fit perfectly. Too bad my T97 FTU has a defective mag release.

Ya looked pretty good. Sorry to hear about the mag release though. Hope you can get it fixed. Like your T97?
