Hi, my name is Terry, and I have OCD.
(Hi, Terry...)
I hate to see white markings on firearms and optics, feeling that they look cheesy. This OCD had been bugging me since I got my T97 Gen 2, with the all the white markings on the right side of receiver, and the giant big serial number on the left. I had to do something about it.
The receiver is made of aluminum. I cleaned the surface with acetone, and put a few drops of Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black (available in many gun stores) to the white markings. The white markings would bubble a little, and disappear. All that was left there are nice dark engraved text. Rinse, and wipe dry. I am glad to see that the blackener did not make any changes to the existing black surface.
Now I feel much better.
