Ok so the fine folks at SFRC sold me a T97 and it has been great fun playing with it over the last 3 weeks. No issues, takes all my AR mags and gies bang every time I pull the trigger, and it's as accurate as I can be at 50 yards and iron sights. So now I want optics, I realize I will have to get a rail, or does anyone have any ideas after that, what scope or red dot has been tried? If we can import the rifle, why not the matching Chinese optic I see online?

There must be someone who has mounted some type of optic on one of these that is happy

The FTU that's being developed for these should open up optics choices a lot. I had a 1-4X on there, just doesn't work. If you stick with the stock configuration, I'd go with a small red dot. The option Corwin-Arms posted above looks to be a good option as well.

I tried a red dot and optic and ended up going back to iron sights for now. I feel like I need to be closer to the barrel, so I'll be waiting for a T97.ca FTU before doing anything else beyond just shooting it.

I'm using a Hensoldt RSA and the CanAm rail. Works great so far. Sits low enough to be really usable. The TRS-25 also works really well.
