Hey Guys;

I recently picked up a used T97 off the EE and hit the range with it today. Fired about 40 shots, all was well & then...

The rifle fired, and the action seized about 2/3's of the way back. Case ejected 'normally', and I took the rear cover off to try and figure out what was wrong...

When I did this, the firing pin flew out and fell to the floor. As you can see in the pic, the firing pin is now bent. I can only assume that the firing pin retaining pin failed, allowing the firing pin to exit stage rear & jammed up the action, getting bent @ the same time. Roll pin is still in place in the bolt, I'm not sure how the hell the firing pin ejected from the bolt???

Now, wrt fixes... Is North Sylva the only joint in town to try & get the part(s) to fix this rifle?

Cheers
Jay

Your firing in looks like it doesnt have the prominent "bump" that goes on either side of the retaining pin to keep it in place.

Your typical AK firing pin will fit IF you trim the end down to size.

Ah, well that would explain what happened Jarvy!

Can anyone post a pic of an undamaged T97 firing pin?

Cheers
