Anyone find anything that works to touch up scratches on the receiver of the 97s ? Cold bluing doesn’t work and I just picked up birchwood aluminum black for like AR receivers and that didn’t work either ? Cheers

Thanks, but I’d rather not use paint. I’d rather leave it scratched I think

It's not some krylon sh*te sir. It's about as durable a finish you could put on a gun in your own home especially if you heat cure it like I said.
I stripped and re did an entire beat to hell Model 12 pump gun in it. I can't even scratch it/chip it off with a finishing nail.
It will withstand 600F temp and any/all oil etc

Should match the rough matte finish on the T97 just fine to boot.

it should match up closely

I understand that but I don’t want a painted gun no matter how good the quality. I already own a bbq sks and detest the paint finish. Thanks for the input tho. I was hoping a ownerhad used a type of anodized chemical that worked on the 97. Cheers

I'm surprised the Birchwood aluminum black didn't work as I have had great luck with it on all kinds of AR-15 scratches. Did you try pre-heating the part before applying the finish? That often helps getting cold blue to work as well.

I'm assuming you thoroughly degreased the part first.
