Hey all, does anyone know if this AR trigger system is legal in Canada, and/or legal to import into Canada? Or even better, if anyone in Canada sells it? I coud not find a Canadian retailer with my google search.

Thanks,

Prohib, along with hellfire cranks and bump fire stocks. ANY device that even suggests that it makes the gun fire "like an automatic" doesn't even need to be asked about - it's illegal. Especially now. I'd seriously question your motivation in asking this at this time if you didn't have a trader rating.

There is nothing magical about the tacon.

It has an "assisted" trigger reset so it pushes your finger to reset. It "feels" faster if your trigger work is so so, but for people with good trigger work it doesn't do much.

The only type of trigger that is questionable will be those triggers that fire a shot at reset. Forgot the brands off my head, but that is not how Taccon works.

I believe you are thinking of the Fostech echo trigger.

Soooo...not really sure what your point is here. I simply asked as I saw Gravel advertising the CMC trigger today on CGN as being available in Canada. This seems like a similar trigger to the TacCon, so I thought I would ask. I would say that we have come to a scary place in our "free" country if a person is asking for information, and is deemed to have illegal ulterior motives just because they are trying to educate themselves. If I had asked if someone had one they could sell me, regardless of whether they are legal or not, I could see your comment, but asking for info and clarification????
I'd seriously question YOUR motivation in saying this, and if you were Justin trudeau, if you didn't have a trader rating.
Oh, and I was asking for factual information (ie criminal code or CFC ruling on this specific item), not an emotional blast, but thanks for taking the time.....

I would guess the three position safety selector would keep it out of Canada.

if you read the ATF Compliance letter it looks like any other quick reset trigger but that's strictly an American ruling.

You can contact TacCon directly but the do not export to Canada and they do not have any retailers/distributors in Canada and it's been around since 2014.

Best to ask them directly.

Interested to know what the answer is.

It is just a quick reset trigger. Full-auto by criminal code definition is something like more than 1 round per trigger press. Well, I will say that reset is part of the pressing cycle. IMHO triggers like Fostech echo will have a legal issue up here in Canada (that fires another round when the trigger is released to rest), but TacCon should be legal.

The question is whether the juice is worth the squeeze.
