Hello,

I am going to be buying some Lar 15 mags soon and want to know if it is worth the extra money to get the "Tacpull" Floor Plates with them?

I don't compete in 3 gun atm but may in the future.

What advantage would they give me for day to day shooting?

Thanks

Fremen

If you're buying them for 3 gun matches... I'd ask for the rules on that.

Im only pointing it out as most 3gun matches regulate rounds per mag so everybody is on level playing field... so you might have a 10 rounder but it'll be downloaded to 5 just like everybody else... so it wouldn't be worth it at that point.

Are you talking about IPSC 3 gun?

Ummmm

Well not in Ontario that much I can speak for personally.

Everyone was running to CX4s for a while........

Now it is ARs.

All because of the 10 round mag.

I think we did that for Defensive Pistol when we ran a 3 gun... just cause a lot of people didn't have 10 rounders (out of 15 I think only 3 or 4 had'em) so to make everybody even we downloaded to 10 in Rifle.

Mind you I think this coming season everybody and their dog will own 10 rounders lol

Are the Tacpuls even listed anymore??The 2008 catloge dosen't have them.
I thought the Ranger plate was the new style along with those new rubber pads. Or is someone pull'n my leg.. :)

I've owned and used most of them.

The magpuls rubber slip ons.
Don't work on the 10 rounders the mag body is too short.
Work just fine on the longer mags, but if you have tight pouches they can snag each other

The Tac-Pul floor plates, as shown on Questar's websight http://www.questar.ca/deals/LAR15_mag.htm
Work just fine on any mags I tried, no modifications required.
Some guys like them since they are solid it's easier to stuff a full mag in with a closed bolt.
Work especially well on ten rounders if you have a magwell on your AR

However I dropped on a lino floor once on an empty mag and it broke on me. Only one I've ever had do that but......

The Ranger floor plates

Work really well but need to be modified when used with 10 round mags. The 'legs' on the bottom of the follower need to be shortened so you can fit ten rounds under a closed bolt.
I like these ones the best after a bunch of different tries. NEver had any problems wiht them on 10, 20, or 30 rounders.

YMMV
