New to the whole form thing, Kind of new to the gun seen as well. I have owned guns most of my life, they have all been handed down and are rarely used. I want something to go out spend the day shooting have some fun and not break the bank. I'm interested in getting a tactical 22, or building my own. I'm just not sure which route to take. I start looking at things I like, & find out It's restricted, or has prohibited magazines. I'm just looking for something that will be a lot of fun, but don't know where to go from here. Any ideas? and where is the best place to look for such a firearm/kits etc.
Thanks

tanfoglio appeal is small, lite, cheap to buy and work with everything i feed in it also accurate just put a tactical scope on it and have fun. i dont regret buying that gun. and its a TANFOGLIO

The price on extra mags stoped me from buying a mk22 + the weight.
If the 15-22 wasnt restricted and didnt have a 10 round limit because of the pistol version, Im sure it would be the king of tacticals.

What about the Mossberg 715T, some places advertise with a 25 mag, but I thought that was prohibited. I like the look of the Ruger SR22, but the price is a little much.

Other than the Ruger 10/22 and the Russian SV-99... I cannot think of many other 22lr rifle that saw military service

Most other 22lr were use for training purposes...

How about this for tactical? Plentiful, reliable, non-restricted Ruger 10/22 with an Archangel marauder/Nomad kit on it. With judicious shopping, you could build one (in an hour or so) for as little as $550, all-in. It's a premium-quality kit, and the fit & finish is every bit as good as an actual H&K G36.

Yeah I think I will stay away from the 715t, The kit looks good also the 597. There is a lot to look at &The more I keep looking the more things I like. I can see how one may end up putting a lot of $ in one of these.

+1 on that, youll want to upgrade almost everything anyway so why not just buy a prebuilt one?
Magnum Research, Volquartsen or Dlask builds and lightyears ahead of a stock 10/22.
