Tactical 700 base/ring suggestions

Hello all
Looking for suggestions and pics of rem700 base/ring setups for a Rifle I'm setting up.

The rifle is a 700p trimmed to 21in and in a BC m40 style stock.
I want the rifle to be compact trim and durable to use in the field and shoot informal practical rifle courses of fire. Want the rings/base to be snag free and strong.
I am leaning toward steel....could be convinced to use ally if there are quality setups.
Is an ally base and steel rings OK?

Btw. 308 and using a 1in ~10power scope. Won't be shooting over 600yds so 0moa is fine....preferred to keep the base low.
 
Ken Farrell gave me outstanding customer service. For plain Jane that's what I would do. Or you could go to ATRA because, even though 0 MOA should do for 600, eventually you will want to go further. Or you'll get the rude surprise that your particular scope and rifle setup won't get there with a 0 MOA RAIL.
