Well,i've been on Craig Wheatly from tacticals innovations telling him that we have no rimfire rifle magazine restrictions, and how we want these mags. There 25 round composite and aluminum magazines are available through there website now
Heres the email he sent me this morn:

I appreciate your honesty and time to respond. We've been getting quite a few requests from Canada so I did some checking with the .gov here and it turns out that any order for .22 mags under $100USD is exempt. Didn't know if you still had an interest in our premium mags, but if so my offer to pay the standard rate postage is still good. Ordering instructions for Canada have been added to the webpage at http://www.tacticalinc.com/ti25-advanced-composite-steel-magazine-ruger-1022-p-532.html for the advanced composite mags and at http://www.tacticalinc.com/ti25-machined-aluminum-steel-lipbrmagazine-ruger-1022-p-212.html for the machined aluminim mags.

Finally some good mags!! You'll have to call them for now until they update there shopping cart(no Canadian Provinces/Country option yet)

Seeing as he is bending over backwards to service the Canadian Market, I think the least we can do is show our appreciation with some orders.

I've got 8 BC Steel Lips mags that work 100% in my R22, but perhaps A few more are in order.

He is a good guy,i've allready placed 2 orders for 6 composite magazines,my bc's and eagles are getting replaced :)

Sorry you can just order direct so long as the total is under $100, no import papers crap?

When I've tried starting threads like this, the Mods rain down on me like the Airborne saying that no matter what the US vendors say, they may still be in contravention of US law, and the thread is nuked. Weird.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but Ronin's thread and the information on Craigs site all are in compliance with the law on both sides of the border.

Agreed, but there are other US gun related businesses who openly say that they can and will ship to Canada, but the message I get on CGN is that we're not supposed to talk about them for some reason.

Which are better the "advanced composite mags" or the "machined aluminum mags"? Are the aluminum worth the extra money?

The aluminum ones are great if you have a stainless 10/22 and feel the need to match, otherwise the composite mags are indestructable and have all the same features..the 3 composite mags and free loader for 99.99 seems like the best deal

The $100 exemption was removed in late 2004 by the US Dept of State

The only exception is Sporting Shotguns -- which is related to the Commerce Dept in the US
