We were approached by a client to take on a odd request. This has been a fun little project. Marlin 336. Arma Coated OD & Coyote. Full length optic mount installed. Just waiting to install the ghost ring sights to top it off. This one is a 30-30 but it's sister is a 357 Mag.

The client intends on using these in 3-gun. We wish him well..

The 30-30 is wood. Figured the added mass would compliment the round. We installed a synthetic stock on the .357.

Jeff Cooper often suggested that the Lever 30-30 was a good choice (suitably modified) for a defensive carbine - looks good too!

Ha! This is the exact project I keep planning to do with my .30-30 336C!

I was going to make a railed fore end for it too but I can't bring myself to butcher a pristine lever gun.

I was considering doing this to a Puma Rossi Ranch Hand in .44 Mag... (assuming that I can get my hands on one in 2011.)

At 24" OAL this would be the shortest "tactical" NR rifle you could get.

Approximately how much to just add the rail?

A box magazine is possible for levers but to convert a marlin to do this is probably a lot of work. One can always buy a Browning and make an extended magazine for it.

If it doesn't have a light or a bayonet mounted, it's not TACTICAL!

Yeah it still needs rails at 3,6 and 9!

Actually we are installing a couple short rails up front for a light.

Looking forward to test firing this. Its a handy little rig.
