Its a regular swivel stud screwed into the side of the wooden stock. You can pick them up at any shooting/hunting store. I have used them on synthetic stocks also. There are many different kinds available for all types of guns and stocks.

Thanks. :D

Is that restricted? What length barrel and what is OAL?
Kim

Non-restricted, and registered with a barrel length less than 470mm. Its an 8.5" barrel from fabsports. The OAL is just over 27 inches.

That's a nice rifle you have on that scope. ;)

:p

nice...I would choose a different optics, sling, bi-pod arrangment for that set-up. It seems to be trying to please to many masters... but I still like it!

Correct, it wouldn't be restricted, it'd be prohibited :p

Factory produced barrel can be any length on a rimfire/manual action centerfire, as long as the OAL is above 26"
If the OAL is under 26" it's restricted.

A barrel can be cut down to 18.5", and be non-restricted. Below that, it's prohib.

SL8's barrel is factory made & the OAL is over 26" so it's non-restricted
If SL8 took a factory barrel and cut it down himself to 8", then it'd be prohib

So if i cut my existing barrel to 12" it would be prohibited,BUT if i buy a prefab 12" barrel it's not restricted or prohibited?Of course i'd be using the factory stock since my folding stock would make it under 26".

Cutting it down to 12" = Prohib

Swapping for a 12" prefab = Non-restricted

Don't you love how our gun laws make sense.

This is the male adaptor from my BFG anaconda, plugged into the BFG loop adaptor. I used this same set up for 3 days carrying the fabarm. No better way to fly. :D

How do you use a sling like that? Unless you're holding the gun, the barrel is going to end up pointing at your feet or ass (referring to SL8's sling).

So, what are the specs? Scope? Internal work? ect ect
Details man, we need details.

nothing special:
Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 illuminated reticle,
Millet rings
BFG simple sling,
Harris 6-9 BRM bipod (range use),
Fabsports 8.5" barrel,
Factory stock cut to barrel lenth and painted.
Uncle Mikes swivel studs
all internals are factory.

If I were to do another stock, I would cut it to just behind the threaded part of the barrel. Just to move the bipod a little more out of the way and get a bit more fore grip space.

A new swivel stud is screwed into the side of the stock. The gun hangs down on my right side. The sling is over my left shoulder and under my right arm. The tip of the barrel stops just below my knee. I don't use the original sling point on the buttstock anymore. (i just have not removed it) The front sling point is just to attatch a bipod. I can easily shoulder the rifle without adjusting the sling.

The bipod is usually only on for the range and to hold it up in the picture. A red dot would be a good option, but I not a fan of them. I also want to see how far out I can accurately shoot it. A regular 2 piont sling does not work on this set up. The heavy barrel and short length always pull it barrel down. The single point sling lets it hang in its natural position.
