Tactical Stocks for "SVT 40"........ ?

I do I do ..... But I'd be in huge trouble if I said from who, when and how much. Some businesses are learning to keep awefully quiet about what they are up to these days.
I was told I don't get one till I actually by a svt-40 LOL
Guess I'll have to order one

Unless someone here in Canada comes up with the idea to make a tactical stock for the large number of SVT-40 rifles that have flooded are country, I don't expect some American to make a tactical stock for one since the SVT-40 is somewhat rare and a prized rifle to them so no one wants to modify their SVT-40s with pink lasers, kitchen sinks, and vertical tampon dispensers. Stock swaps aren't permanent in any way so the idea of an SVD Dragunov stock for the SVT-40 may not be a bad idea if someone can figure out a scope base for the SVT-40 that can be used on all non-sniper versions that doesn't require permanent modification to the rifle.

Well, if you can say from where can you at least give us a picture?

Really hmm well where at do you have any pictures of it ?

The main question is why?

Anyone who adds 'tactical' accessories to a WWII rifle deserves a swift kick in the nuts. Especially with a permanent mod.

Nope, I do not have anything I'm permitted to share.
I'm sure these will be common knowledge soon enough.
The folks in question came to me for some advice due to my background in composite rifle stock mould and laminating process.
I kinda asked why bother as well, but whatever floats yer boat I said and offered what advice I could.
I just know something is being made for the market. It's happening thousands of miles away from me so can't offer any more than what I've said here.

Well thankfully a stock swop is not a permanent mod! A tactical stock for SVT's is not a bad idea especially since the SVT stocks tend to crack and alot of them have already been repaired during referb. A nice tactiacal plastic stock may make the gun more user/field friendly without worrying about damaging the original wood stock.

I like my Milsurps stock as issued as well but if I decide to take one out hunting or plinking changing out the stock is not a big deal to me. You can always change back. I actually wouldn't mind taking mine out hunting moose sometime.

So why tease us like that??

I can see that angle, however there is nothing necessarily 'tactical' about a replacement stock for hunting... unless we're talking about adding rails, AR-15 butts, and grips. Which is beyond lame, IMO.

Svt 40s sell in the US for over 2k , they are rare there because they have import bans on semi auto rifles with a detachable mags for awhile now. All semi auto rifles sold in the US must be made in country.. I would not mod your rifles because if US import laws ever change you might be able to flip your SVT down south for some good profit.

Putting a direct replacement, drop in stock on a rifle is not "irreverseably modifying" the rifle. If a guy was concerned, just save the original stock parts in a way that preserves them.

That's what you call supply and demand.

Not everyone's vision and budgets are the same. I'm sure not everyone you know would live their lives like you choose to either. Moding an SVT-40 doesn't make great sense to me either; but until I purchase all of them, it's not my place to judge other's actions with their money.

The tactical part could be simple as coming up with a better/easier way to mount a scope. Although agreed "tactical" may not be the best word! Practical may be better. I just don't see it as a bad idea if done right.

I can't see why a guy how works hard to buy a rifle can't modify his rifle the way he wants to not every one is a collector
I say do to it as you like you Mite loose sum value but if it Make you happy who cares
Those who don't like it shod have put there $ before you got it
