On a modern Sako bolt action, would it be possible to make it into a quick take down rifle that could have barrels switched between calibres so long as the barrels are head spaced for that action?

I would think the barrels will be the cheap part. The expense will be labour involved in design, and fabrication of a safe and easy way to switch barrels. No small task. I would go with beretta boys advice. And what if it doesn't work quite right? This happens a lot, you know.

I think the benchrest guys use action wrenches and a small barrel vise to do this regularly...with the built in Sako recoil lug you won't have to pin it and I think a witness mark on action and barrels would get your headspace set up satisfactorily...I think this has been done before...
