I was just wondering what options are available in a bolt action take down rifle that won't break the bank. I know of some 22's but I want a centre fire caliber and I also know of the Browning BLR option but it's a lever action. Thanks in advance!

"Take down center fire rifle" and "won't break the bank" ... are not met to be used together ;)

Depending what you want to use it for... your cheapest option would probably be a tube stock with switch barrel configuration

Or find a good folding stock

But either options are not exactly cheap...

Your cheapest "factory" option is probably the Thompson

Blaser, Merkel, Sauer, Mauser to name a few but it s around 3500$ plus the bases and rings 450$ roughly ... then the optic.

what is your need ?

blr is more a bolt than a lever action despite his lever ....

Not many options that won't be very expensive. As noted, you're looking at around $3500+ for a Blaser, Merkel, Mauser Sauer, etc.

I looked into these recently, and they're fantastic rifles. Be prepared to wait though, unless FN Sports has the components in stock to assemble your rifle, it's usually a 6-8 month wait to get them.

As noted, your best bet would probably be getting a regular bolt action rifle where you can easily remove the action from the stock.

Savage makes a bolt rifle with a folding Choate stock and a short heavy barrel. I've never seen one but they look interesting.
