Hi:
I recently acquired 5 - 30rnd AR mags, Teflon coated. I heard that they might be tight in my robarm M96 - and they are - VERY tight.:(

Is there any way to chemically remove the Teflon coating (at least on the top inch or so) to make the mag go in and out easier??

Maybe this is a dumb question - but before I try various things, I'd like to get your expert opinions...
Thanks.

Hi:
Thanks - I tried that (it certainly helps a lot).
I bet with no rivet(s) it would fit even better (but can't do that)...
Thanks.

Though it is not chemically I would tape off around the magazine below where you want to remove the coating then go at the upper part with fine steel wool, not the best but beats using a grinder.:D

The Teflon if removed will make very little difference; it's the mags themselves (not mil-spec) or the rifle.

Find some mags that fit right and stick with those :)

Hi:
Thanks to all. Between the rivits and some old holes (wrong spot) that also affectd the fit. Now with no rivets and hte holes filed, they just drop right out smooth...
