If anyone is in the Ottawa Cabellas in the next while, they have a Beretta Silver Pigeon O/U in the 'used' cabinet that actually looks to be new but they've taken about $1000 off the MSRP because of a "crack in the stock." I'm not in the market myself but was just now looking at this firearm and I'm blessed if I could find the alleged crack: there may be some filler on the inside of the forend but I believe the use of filler is not unheard of in these or any other days and, if filler is indeed in there, the defect does not go through the wood, in any court of law meaning there is no crack. Anyway if someone more expert than I can tell me where this blessed crack is, I'd love to know- it seems that I may need to improve my inspection skills or something.
