I know winchester makes the trails end takedown and browning makes the lightweight stainless takedown 81. Chiappa makes the wildlands, who else makes a takedown in rifle calibers? I'm not looking for pistol calibers, rimfires or old savage 99's that are takedowns.

If i wanted brand new...The current crop of Winchester take-downs is where I'd go. If I wanted the most simple and quick take-down system for a Lever Action rifle, I'd go with an "Original" Marlin Take-down rifle. Much easier, and quicker to take-down, less parts as well.

Well, fewer people get worked up when you take it out in a residential neighbourhood!

Very true.....

And occasionally you may find a new one here as well https://store.prophetriver.com/

One of the vendors on here (hermn8r) has a BLR Stainless takedown in 450 marlin, and another has a new one in 243 win. The BLR has good bang for the buck. I personally prefer it to the winchester trails end. I sold my wild west copilot in favor of a 450 marlin BLR Stainless takedown. I didn't feel it was worth 2-3 times the price.

You said no pistol calibers, but a good take down in.44rem mag.will hold its own within reason. They take down in seconds and are very easy to carry in a pack.anything inside 100 yards is in danger .lol

I almost bought a chiappa alaskan takedown in 44, it just seems limited to around 100 yards for an accurate shot on game depending on if I find a good load. I am interested in the blr in 308 but they aren't easy to find right now lol. I have seen elk and deer in places that are 200 to 250 yards away so I'd like a little more range than a 44. I have a model 99 in 30-30 that is a takedown but it seems stuck together and I have read that if it's stuck together then it's best to leave it that way. Apparently the savages wear from taking them down lots and that causes issues. That gun is going to my son as an heirloom from my late dad. I don't want to fiddle with it before my boy gets it.
