Takedown screws marlin model 60

I know this is probably a stupid question,but was wondering if anyone knew how much the 2 stock screws on a Marlin 60 should be tightened.I recently switched to a Boyds stock from the original tupperware stock,and am not sure how much to tighen them.I have done a little sanding on stock where the barrel was touching,but have lost a little bit of accuracy.Any help would be appreciated.

My experience, do NOT over tighten, aluminum receiver and steel screw plus over tighten do not mix well.

I tighten until I get a goodly amount of resistance, and I try to always tighten the same amount of turns and have the slot in the screw line up in the same spot on the stock.
