Taking Blueing off Receiver...How long does it take?

How long does it take and was it hard to do? I am no handy man so I am kind of cautious. What did you use? ( I read the tips section and a few different removers were suggested)

CLR sold at Canadian Tire will remove the blue in less than a minute..

Never tried it but I heard that plain old vinager works good.

Any rust remover will do it in a couple minutes...rinse well though

 

[Wrong Way]

What are you taking it off of? If its a 10/22, it aint bluing...its paint. (Aluminum reciever)....hit it with a wire brush.

[Armament]

Varsol or paint thinner works fine. The coating is a cheap paint as wrong way said. After removing the paint you simply have to polish to a nice shine.

navel jelly sold at ctc works well but sure you rince the parts good
