So my dad isn't quite the hulking slab of muscles that he used to be 20 years ago, and I think he's feeling the punishment from The Mule (Rossi single 12) that he takes out when we go plinking. I know Rossi has a couple of recoil pads, but I can't seem to find anyone who carries them in Canada.

Any vendors on here who would stock a good pad or recoil reducing system for a Rossi single 12 with synthetic stock?

There are some inexpensive 20ga autos (Turkey built) that function well and would serve well for plinking. The "Ol Man" would love the fact his young 'ins got him a gun. I know $$ can be hard found but any repeater or any 20 or 28 would beat that old single. P.S. I've seen Mossberg O/U in 20 & 28 for 400-500.

If you want to do your dad a favour, stay away from the silver reserve.

Get him a semi or a pump...being a bit heaver and (most) coming with a proper recoil pad should really help.

I don't think there is a specific prefit pad for that gun but you might find something close here. h ttp://www.limbsaver.com/2010/pdfs/templates/LS_templates.pdf

Technique can help mitigate recoil. Grasp the forend and push out while pulling the gun into your shoulder with your shooting hand, as if you're trying to stretch the gun.
