Just what we need , another gimmick to attempt to instantly turn beginners into long range shooters.

However, I am guessing that the cost will keep it from becoming overly popular.

Useless POS... Oh well batteries are dead and I've never bothered to actually learn how my firearm shots, read wind or bullet drop, oh well can't shoot now......

No thanks

Gimmicks "Eh", just like the computer that the average person 20 yrs ago never thought would be so common place, and we all are now sitting around in the evenings armed with lap tops discussing guns etc. Or GPS systems in our cars and for wilderness trips etc. The progress and evolution of technology gentlemen, embrace it or it will go right over you.

You have a point, but GPS in cars and personal computers are not necessary to survive. They certainly can make things easier but they also come with the necessity for electricity. A hand written letter tossed in the mailbox or a paper map(no way!) functions without electricity. This new sighting system isn't overly revolutionary and only increases the dependence on electronic crap. Hard earned skills and solid DOPE still win the day.

Not saying I agree with, or use all the modern bells and whisles, just pointing out there inevitable. Our reliance on electricity whether it be by grid, battery, or solar is increasing, not decreasing.

One can still hunt just fine using iron sights and a traditional map and compass. But as time passes that set up will be in a distinct minority.

Only a memory if you wish to keep up with the Jones'. No doubt there are some fantastic electronic tools that make life a lot easier. However, when it comes to hunting and shooting, there are very few that are worth the effort. Rangefinders, reddots(some available without battery now) and white lights. This "revolutionary" optic isn't one of them. With some basic math and experience you can range find with mildots and a pencil, neither of which require batteries now or ever. You know what becomes an instant memory? How useful electronics WERE when they have no source of power...
