After completing the required couses, I sent in my app for a RPAL on Jan 19th. I got my card on Fri. Feb 16th, less than a month!! I called my bud on Sat AM and told him I can finally hold a pistol, and let's go shopping. We went to the store on Sat PM to look at pistols and I bought a used, tuned up, SA 1911 Defender, on the spot. The store called the info in to the CFO (C?) and they told me I can't get it until I joined a club, which I knew anyway, and showed the proof of membership to the CFO. I joined a club on Monday at 3:00 PM, went to the Manitoba CFO's office where a most pleasant lady processed an ATT to take it home and a 5 year ATT to all clubs in Manitoba in 10 minutes. Was that great or what? Less than 30 days from wanting a pistol so bad I can taste it to taking it apart for a cleaning in preparation for a club safety course and shooting it on Thursday, to start practicing for IPSC. And to top it all off Momma want to shoot pistols too.
Now all I have to do is buy reloading equipment and that that minty Ruger MKII I have a line on for the wife. I still have to figure out how to smuggle a Springfield Armory Loaded in 45 ACP, two Ruger Blackhawk 45 LC's, a new rifle, and a shotgun, (for cowboy action shooting) into the house without her finding out, but after trying it for years with guitars and RC model airplane equipment I just know she will find out anyway.
