Talk me into or out of a Norinco M305 short barrel, please

All I've ever known and competed with are the longer barreled renditions and I'm kinda over it. I have a shorty and I just love it. This fall for gun season that lasts only five days for our WMU, I will carry my shorty for deer. :)

No need to talk you out of it!!

Frankly the M14 rifle has one niche that no other rifle can fill , especially the non-restricted niche; and that's the zombie/ deer/moose/ bear/ quad/truck gun niche. You go and try to convince me of any other platform that's got a proven magazine fed, hostile weather, nasty environment, ample cartridge, cool factor, beat the crap out of it rugged handling and maybe I might carry it for deer.

The M14 will always dominate this niche. Other niches? That's another story, but in the meantime buy it for what it's worth! :D

Picked one up today, cleaned it and hit the range, going to be my new favorite easily, except im having a hell of a time removing the magazine. I have to bump the bottom of the mag frontward to break it free. May need to file a bit of the tab on the mag
