I have these talley one piece mounts that i mounted the front ring L1 screws go in two threads deeper then the rear ring L2 screws. the difference is noticeable, so im wondering is this a common occurence with Talley one piece rings. i have emailed Talley about this and they said they would send me a new set but id rather try to make the ones i have work.

any opinions would be appreciated

What rifle are they for? Iirc, for a Mauser at least, one set is intentionally longer than the other, just can't remember if it's front or back right now.

On many bolt rifles the front and rear screws are of different lengths and need to be inserted into the proper location. Otherwise you'll get bottoming-out of the front ones, bolt binding issues when screws project through into the raceway or other irritations.

When you figure it out you'll have one of those "Doh!" moments. :)
