I think with all these new rimfires coming out, there isn't anyone NOT buying a new rifle this year. A couple of new Rugers...the Tikka..maybe the CZ457s. Yikes!

Translation... these are not the first ones made. 25 years ago, I stopped at a Texas gunshop and discovered a No.1-A chambered for .22 LR, the owner told me it was one of three made... I have never since been able to find confirmation of their existence... I have been told many times they were never made... but I went over the rifle carefully and I am convinced that it was an authentic factory original Ruger. I should have bought it, as this was pre 9/11 and getting the rifle home was no big deal... I did not buy it, and I have been kicking myself for 25 years.

Well, I'd love to try one personally. I've never owned a #1, or even shot one..but I've always been intrigued by them...and the Browning 1885. I bought a 527 Varmint in 17 Hornet before Christmas, but leading up to that...I was hoping to find a varmint caliber, falling block rifle that tickled my fancy. Never thought I'd ever see a #1 in 22LR...so I need a few moments to get my head around the idea!

Best bet in Canada will be prophet river and maybe Epps....it’s a full size #1 in a limited run, so be prepared to pay $2100 plus all in.....
