Anybody here shoot one in open IPSC? Any reason not to get one in 38 super? Reliable ? trigger ? Comp? do they work?.... Even in 9 Major. Not looking for the 2011 Vs Tanfo debate, just info on Tanfo open guns. I figure that if Eric won a ton of world titles they must work.

And if someone has one near MTL who would be willing to let fire a few mags through his...

a limted knowledge here, the 38 super always works better than 9Major, reliabiltiy almost the same depends to who built the gun, the advantage of the Supers is the case powder capacity, so you have more powder choice that will work better on your gun ( comp, ports etc), downside, expensive brass and hard to find 1F brass, you will be hurting your back from picking up those fired brass lol.

Go with 9mm major. It is reliable and you never have to worry about brass. You may have to use slightly higher pressures to make major due to the ported barrel, but that is not to concerning here in Canada where IPSC rules have major factored at 160 PF.

Have you shot the tanfo in 9 major?

I shoot a GC in 9Major. Love it, no issues. buy one or a cz checkmate...forget the 2011's.
