What do you guys who have a Tanfoglio 1911 think of the quality of the gun?

Thanks for your insight.

I'm interested in this as well.

People state the Tanfoglios are good guns in passing, but I have never seen a proper review with detailed pictures.

Freedom Ventures pics suck (no offense, but if you want to sell these things; take favorable pictures, not of a gun out of an oily bag).

Are these the best value for sub-$700 1911 or should I just get a Kimber or Springfield (or Norinco).

Please don't hijack this thread; I am looking for an honest review of the Tanfoglio.

So you Tanfoglio owners, please step up!

I have seen one in the MTL shooting club. The gun seems awsome, but it is also made to very very close tolerances. So my point is that a gun like that should be always used while in perfect cleaning condition. The one I saw (can't remember the exact model) was clearly a comp. pistol, not a combat pistol.

Thanks Intel.... :)

However, someone must own a Tanfoglio .45 that wants to share an opinion.

They look nice. but I would like a decent review.

I'd say the Kimber from TSE or SIR is a better gun for sure, It's not alot more (when you consider consumables; ammo) or when you look at the lifetime cost of the firearm.

I don't want to turn this into a X vs Y 1911 debate; but would like someone who has a Tanfolglio to speak their mind.

Sorry - I suck as a photographer. I could try to take more, but I'd guess they'd suck too. Try Tanfoglio's website for better pics.

RHall here has one...
