I'm looking at getting a 10mm. Always wanted one, and since I already have a few .45s, the 10mm was the next on my list. Not interested in wheel guns, so the .44mags are out of the question (for now).

Any opinions, one way or another, between these 2? I've shot the G20 and liked it, but not a fan of the Glock grip angle. I understand the Tanfoglio is a steel frame based on the CZ75, and I LOVE my SP01 Shadow.....would the recoil of the 10mm make the steel frame more likely to crack? Would the G20 likely go "kaboom" firing reloaded FMJs or HP, provided I keep the loads within SAAMI specs? I know the G20 is easier to get parts for, but the actual gun is rare (seemingly) to find. Tanfoglio, on the other hand, are easier to find but lack the aftermarket presence.

Thanks for the perspectives

There's no contest here. Glock 20 is, in my opinion, the most useful handgun ever built. I've seen a couple of bad revues on Tanfoglio 10mms. Sounds like they aren't sturdy enough for full power 10mm. For around $200 you can buy a 40 S&W barrel for the Glock, and target shoot for 1/2 price.

If you are going to shoot 10mm, you need to reload. Then you won't need the extra barrel for 40s&w.

I have the Glock with trigger and spring upgrades. It is the only Glock i have, only one i need.
Before getting the Glock, my internet search suggested the Tanfoglio was not built specifically for the 10mm and may not take the beating.

I do like revolvers so i also have a S&W 610.

I'm a daredevil, I've shot hundreds of .40s&w through my 10mm mags/barrel without ever a problem. I know some people haven't been so lucky.

Avoid the wonder finish tanfolgios. The chip and destroy themselves pretty quickly. Still waiting to get mine back after well over a year. On the flip side my Glock 20 has about 14-15000 rounds through it and going strong. Only had to replace a couple recoil springs and a trigger pin. The gun kept running with the broken trigger pin just fine it wasn't until I found a chunk of it on the bench that I realized it was even damaged.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with their (as always) great perspectives.

I think I'll go with the G20. I don't plan on reloading it past SAAMI specs, so hopefully, no "kabooms".

....now to find a G20 Gen4 somewhere....
