Tanfoglio 9mm magazines

Both the chrome and blued work 100% in my shadow. They are about $10 each cheaper than the CZ mags and they are all metal. I've never had the plasic basepads on my CZ mags break after lots of hard use, But I have had plastic basepads break on a crappy taurus and so I am a fan of the all metal design.

I have used both ,,I prefer the stock CZ mags I have never had one break,,,the plastic base pad that is. You have to ensure the Tanfoglio mag base pad is properly locked on the tab, I have had one come apart in a compitition.

If you compete indoors, steel base of Tanfo mags suffers badly from mags being dropped on concrete floor. After the first few drops, getting the baseplate off becomes difficult. Later, baseplates will crack. YMMV but this happened to both of my Tanfo mags. I never had a single problem with plastic baseplates on my CZ mags.

FWIW I replaced the cracked Tanfo plates with rubber-coated ones from Beretta mags. These required a bit of dremeling but the result was very good.

There are rubber basepads available for the tanfoglio mags. I bought mine from Brant Shooting Sports (site sponsor) Whether they are legal for production in IPSC is debatable, but I don't think that Canadian RO's are making an issue of them at this time. I have installed them on my tanfoglio mags but have not shot any matches with them yet.

those Tang mags are sure nice and shinny chrome but I haven't tried them.I notice my plastic shadow mags are starting to give me problems after many hits to the concrete and about 13 000 rounds through my gun since last May.

Actually, not debatable at all. These rubber tanfoglio base pads are an oem option, and are listed on the tanfoglio website as a production legal part.

However...they are a no go for the USPSA production box...they r too large. When i participate in USPSA, i use the aluminum base pads, as they fit in the gun- in the box.

I use both the normal tanfo. mags and the chrome ones - no difference except price & I like the looks of the chrome ones. I also have the rubber butt base pads and would recommend them as they definitely help cushion the drop on concrete. As Maurice stated-no issues using the rubber base pads in IPSC production.

I like the rubber basepads as they give me assurance I have seated the mag with a speed reload.
