I have the 22lr version. I like it, it's lots of fun. Pretty easy to switch to left handed. I really just wanted a bullpup and this was the cheapest way to get one. I've had no issues with mine. Just too bad mag capacity is only 10
I have the .22 version, so far it is a great gun, my kids love to shoot it, it is light, the controls work well, and I don't think I have had a stoppage yet. I am only running a dot on it but the accuracy is pretty good my son was shooting those exploding targets from Cdn tire no problem at 50 meters. The irons are a little thick but could be used if needed. I use it for critter control and it is now pretty much my go to. It might be a little challenging to put glass on it, and I have heard the weaver rail is out of spec. So far no problem in whacking crows out to about 40 - 50 meters with it.
I got mine today. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm quite disappointed thus far.
The overall feel is cheap. There's a goofy detachable flash suppressor on the thing (you know, to help with the massive fireballs a .22wmr produces) and it's got a small picatinny rail on the bottom of it. The problem is, the thing is very poorly aligned and only held in place by a single bolt. I put a small laser on it and stuck another laser boresighter into the barrel. the rail is so badly misaligned that it was off by about 45 cm low at 25 metres. I decided to take the suppressor off so I grabbed and allen key and unscrewed the single bolt. The suppressor came off without issue but I could then hear rattling from inside the hollow forestock. I broke down the rifle and found that the bolt was held in place by a small nut but there was no recess to keep the nut in place once the bolt had been removed. Worse, the hole for the bolt is right below the non-removable barrel so realigning the nut in order to reattach the suppressor is needlessly difficult.
There's also a picatinny rail built into the top of the carrying handle. I had intended to use that rail to mount my little Leupold scope but I found that the grooves in the rail are not quite as wide as the industry standard and my quick release scope attachment won't fit. The grooves are also not uniformly deep so that the groove is much deeper along the sides of the rail than they are in the middle of it. I might head down to the gun store to see if I can find a scope or sight that will fit. If not, I guess it's dremel time.

I have one in 22LR and love it.
A few things to know about the Appeal in 22LR:
1. The "recoil spring sleeve" (the part where you insert the bolt lever) is made of aluminum, and the place where the bolt lever is inserted is quite weak because there is a large hole for the lever drilled in a pretty thin aluminum tube. I don't think the 22WMR has this problem because there is another sleeve (probably made of steel). Mine broke and was replaced by Freedom Ventures under warranty no problem. I bought one extra just in case. I think if you're just careful with it, it should stay intact for long time. Perhaps mine had a manufacturing defect, I don't know. Anyway, I'm not going to sell the rifle, it shoots and looks great and I love it.
2. This thing cycles CCI Quiet! Yes, really! The bolt doesn't stay open on the last round, but otherwise it works fine. I was very surprised. It cycles CCI Standard Velocity just fine, and the bolt stays open on the last round. It's accurate off hand (with a red dot) with both CCI Quiet and CCI CV, so that's what I'm going to use with it. I'm not sure whether high velocity stuff is harmful for it, but it's less accurate and louder, so I don't see a point to use it.
This is a unique and well made gun, super short, and still having a long barrel. Relatively expensive, but IMO totally worth it. Freedom Ventures currently has them. I'm not aware of any other stores selling it.
I'd buy a 22WMR version if it was available at a right price.
