Hi,

I'm ready to buy a Tanfoglio "match pistol" in .40. Some guys are the range have mentioned there are some problems with the rear adjustable Supersight made by LPA. Has anyone had problems with the set screws coming loose, or any other problems with it? This might be the deal breaker if so.

Thanks

I have LPA fiber optic adjustable real sights on my shadow and it has thousands of rounds (close to 5000) through it and the screw is still tight.

I know it's a different gun but the quality of the sights is top notch in my opinion.

I've got a Tanfo. P19L 9mm w/the LPA rear adjustable sight and approx. 10-12000 rounds down the pipe - no problems yet but I know on other forums they mention problems w/them and I'm wondering if its the major calibers that do that?

I have a Stock 1 9mm with about 15K through it.The cross pin broke at about 5K(Ive had Bomars break these as well) and I replaced it with a drill bit.No subsequent problems. The sights have otherwise been fine, the adjustment screws are still good. The LPA sights do have a reputation for coming apart but no complaints on my part

Tanfoglios are great guns and I wouldnt let the reputation of a fragile rear sight stop you buying one.

I'm going to get one. The match model. I will loctite the set screws when I get the pistol and see how it goes. I can always replace the rear sight if there is a problem down the road.

I just wanted to chime in here. I have 3 Tanfoglios, all with that sight on them. They are made by LPA and i have had some issues with them as well. Both my Limited Customs have over 50K rounds between them and i have had to replace that site 3 times total. The first time the rear blade broke off, the second and third time the pin worked its way out. It appears to be a QC problem with LPA and now all my sites are good to go... They are easy to replace and can be purchased from Freedom Ventures. Dont let a minor issue with a rear sight stop you from buying a great gun...

Same here...rear elevation screw broke on my stock 2, although that happened at about 65-70,000rds. i have another stock 2 & a limited custom...i have had no other issues.
