I don't know if this should have been in gunsmithing, but I thought someone in here would have experience with it. I just put an Xtreme guide rod in my Tanfoglio LC. Everywhere I look I see warnings about needing a gunsmith to install it. I've replaced quite a few guide rods and I've never seen warnings like that. I also bought the Xtreme flat trigger and there's no warnings. I would think adjusting a new trigger is more sensitive than dropping in a guide rod, but they don't feel the need to place a warning sheet in that package. Am I missing something here?

Most of the warnings are to somewhat relieve them from any sort of liability. The guide rod is somewhat drop in,...may just need to confirm the fit in the frame. If the pistol is relativly low round count you need not worry too much as there will be no damage to the seating area.
The flat trigger however can be a bit of a pain in the a$$. There are some good resources on-line, suggest you watch them a few times before attempting install. The sear and choosing the right springs are what is going to give you the most trouble. Count on 4-6 hrs of steady fitting (assemble/reasembly)

Definatly worth the headache involved, but do watch all the vids very closely. A+ for quality of info.
