I have a marlin 1893 straight grip stock that I would like to set up with a peep sight. The problem is that the only real option is a flip up peep sight on the tang. Anything else would require drilling and tapping and I don't want to defile this girl. I've shot one gun that had a straight stock and flip up tang sight, and handled a few at shows as well. I find that when i grip the stock the sight is right at my hand by the base of my thumb. When I fire it actually hits my hand slightly. This is really obnoxious. Does anyone else find this to be true? If not am I doing something wrong?
