Tang Site on Lever Action

I've been thinking of putting on a Tang site on my Win 94. For those with experience how do you like it for hunting?

They work just fine when you are on a stand ... but somewhat awkward or downright in the way if you're the "dogger" or still hunting.

I personally would never use one...

Don't like having that ackward thing on the tang would go with a reciever mounted ghost ring type site though.

Or have you ever looked up the ladder sights that were very popular 100 years ago.

Try a set of Ghost rings instead.

Thanks for the feedback. Doesn't sound very popular. I've not had any problems with the factory sights and I shoot it well.

I found a tang on a 94 gets in the way, a receiver peep is a much better option in MHO

I had a Marble installed on my Browning 1895 30-06. It used to hit me in the eyebrow under recoil. Better off with the buckhorn, or a low powered scope.
