Tangent Theta

In good conditions most scopes look pretty darn good. Challenging conditions make differences become more apparent. Ie. very last light, looking into the horizon, checking off axis aberration , etc etc etc.
Comparing scopes in the middle of the day isn't much of a test but rather a starting point.

I really like how I can keep shooting until almost last light in the winter. Which means I get about 15-30 minutes of more shooting during the winter. Last winter I was always last one shooting just cause I could actually still see my target, holes not so much but target was super clear still at 300y.

Last week I was shooting at 1000 yards. The 3 other guys there couldn't even see the target with the naked eye. You could barely make it out with the S&B but it was no problem for the TT( of course I couldn't see the red bullseye but I had no problem aiming center target). That was a 1953-2000 hours . I probably could have went a while longer but what was the point. I was shocked at the difference between the S&B and TT . As a long range hunter this is exactly the kind of low light performance I am looking for.
What the TT gives up to the S&B is a nice warm high contrast image. For day time shooting the S&B has a more visually pleasing image in my opinion BUT the TT has higher resolution, sharper edge to edge , no tunneling and much better effective light transmission . The S&B is really a 7-25x56. As the tunneling effectively eliminates the field of view below 7. There is ZERO advantage to deceasing the power below 7 on the S&B as the field of view is exactly the same on 5 power as it is on 7 power.
Don't get me wrong. The S&B is a fantastic scope . It's just that well, I find the TT more fantastic.

I bought a Sightron 10-50 from Jerry 2 years ago and still loving it. I have been in competitions with others having S&B, Nightforce, March and they can keep up with my scope most of the time.

Haha, awesome. If those guys made a good FFP 5-25x scope to compete with the big ($$$) boys, they'd make a killing.

I have both the TT 5-25 & and Premier Heritage 5-25, the TT is definitely an improvement over the PH. I would tend to agree that the TT is superior to the SB but the SB is still my favorite.

If anyone in SW Ontario is interested in buying one you can come with me to take them for a test drive.

Oh ya...... Sightron make a decent scope for the money, but there not in the same league...... sorry.
