Tangfolio 1911 Custom Trouble

My 1911 Custom is brand new but it missfeeds and jams at least once every magazine. Upon investigation I noticed that in the normal position the slide sits at least a 1/8 of an inch forward on the lower frame, is this normal for 1911,s or could this be the cause of my trouble.

No, it's not normal. Check to see if the slide release , link, and barrel are OK.

contact the seller and talk to him/her. I am sure they'd be happy to rectify the issue.
