My spiffy looking Tapco mags came in the post yesterday. Gotta say they do look nice with the Tapco stock. But..... call me fussy if ya like but as an Old Squaddy I'm used to cartridges actually coming out of the mag and getting the old bang stick to go bang. These things will get ya killed pretty bloody quick ....unless you take out the mag and throw it at the zombie....Nah that wouldnt work either...takes for ever to get the bloody mag out.

I'm going to start acting my age and use stripper clips ...way faster and far more reliable.
I got two and ones for sale.............Im gonna take the other one for a walk in the woods and shoot the piece of #$%%^ with an SKS loaded with stripper clips :)

Let me know if you want a brand new in the bag Mag....I dont want the thing.

Dissapointed but not surprised.
 
Has anybody done the 5 round stripper clip mod? Is it worth cutting them in half and can you use side cutters to do it? My SKS seems to strip 6 when I load from a full clip.
 
My tapco mags work good in my Sks. Quick changes. Not like an AR mind you but still pretty quick. I had to use it a few times to get used to changing them out. As far as feeding rounds I've never had an issue. Feeds every time. They might just need a little breaking in? I dunno

Hi. I bought the mags after a lot of research and I have to admit most pple are very happy with the mags..and good luck to them :) Personally I dont trust them to work 100% efficiently 100% of the time...and thats the least I expect from a weapon

Very happy with the Tapco stock tho. And my stripper clips ......
 
I've had good luck with the Tapco mags. I have four of them now and have never had a feed issue. My Russian SKS does require me to sand some edges down on them to fit nice, but they work fine after that.
 
Well ..I bought two of them and Im keepin one to shoot :) but before I do that I'll tinker around with it and see if I can get it to feed. Wont ever trust it tho, strictly Poser gear if I keep it. Dog only gets one bite and you cant trust it again eh.
Will try and get it feeding....why not..might be interesting...might actually work. I understand pple have trouble with the original stock but I figured it would be a slot in with the Tapco stock. It seems to be a good fit but every round hits the bolt, looks like a woopeckers been in there. I put the original mag back in and cycled 60 rounds through and it was like silk.I timed myself too and I can throw stripper clips in as fast as I can change the mag. I know the 5 rd thing is a ball ache but when SHTF dont think the 5 rd rule is gonna last very long .
 
mine is using tapco mag

before i do the feeding ramp mod , i was some missfeed but today after the modification , i shot 160 round an no malfunction ,

i think i will buy some tapco mag !
