Tapco 5rd SKS Magazine Fix

To the people I have talked to at the range with the Tapco 5 round magazines that will not chamber the 5th round, instead it stove pipes the live round. The two magazines I have will do this in my SKS but not in other peoples SKS's and yet again will fail in somebody elses SKS. I have a fix that I confirmed today. Check the mag followers a see if it sits level in the mag with no rounds in the mag. Both my mags the followers were tilted to the right. To fix this I took the mag appart and bent the spring were it attaches to the follower upwards so every thing was level in the mag. I shot 50 rounds with each mag and not one problem. I hear that people are having the same concerns with the 20 and 30 rnd mags on some of the other forums.

Do the Tapco mags. allow for the use of the stripper slips for top feeding?

I tried to make my 5/20 Tapco mag work with different mods, but still wouldn't work 100%. They are junk pure and simple. Threw it in the garbage. Just a poor design! Doesn't compare in quality to the 5/20 mags at all.

Thats the way I felt after a few trips to the range, mine almost hit the garbage. I bought two more and they did the same thing as the first two.
I did the same trick as I did to the first two mags. I have 4 working mags that have not failed once after 500 rounds. I am happy.
