I bought a Chinese SKS (not a "D") last week. I'm looking at putting a telescopic stock on it so it will fit both my wife and me. (I'd like to get her into shooting).I have long arms like a monkey. I've found a dealer with a black ATI for $99.99 and another dealer with a Tapco Fusion with attached lower rail for 119.99 . I'm assuming these are different stocks and not just different names although they look a lot alike. Are there any other stocks I should consider, and why? Thanks for your input.

The ATI is a folder, and is not adjustable for length of pull, whereas the Tapco has an adjustable buttstock. I used to have an ATI on my sks, but the first time I had it out in the cold, the butt snapped off while I was folding it.. Tapco is a lot nicer, more solid, better suited to you if your purpose is to be adjustable.

I am in the same position as I wanted my wife to shoot my SKS as well (she hasn't yet). I bought the Tapco and it is great quality. My SKS is scoped and when wifey tries holding it the stock can be adjusted to feel perfect for her.....

Where did you get your tapco? And can you stil use stripper clips with your scope installed?

I was about to buy my Tapco from sksman which I hear is great to deal with and has no issues shipping to Canada but a friend from my gun club had a brand new one in a box that he didn't want so I saved a few bucks. I have no problem using stripper clips as the scope leaves me just enough room. If it didn't I would rather throw the scope out than not be able to use the stripper clips. It's like having hundreds of preloaded mags! :D

Well , I picked one up before Christmas, and didn't get it installed (still working on the handguard pin though) until 2 days ago because it's been snowing so God*amned much ! I finally took it to the range today and I am impressed. It is a good stock, and greatly improves the handling and shooting of the rifle. I'd highly recommend it. Thanks for the advice everyone. :dancingbanana:
