I am having feeding issues with all 3 of my Tapco 20 round mags. I'm using the newer Norinco non corrosive ammo and it seems that OAL of the round is very tight in the mags causing the tip of the bullit to get hung up in the poly mag. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Might need to file the feed lips a bit. Just need to put a bit of an angle on it so that the tip of the bullet is pointing up a little bit more. There are some good tutorials on fine tuning tapco mags. If they are not on this board, there are at sksboards.com. Hopefully that will fix it.

All mine were junk as well. After a ton of filing and pissing around they seem to work ok. I should have just stayed with the stock setup.

Varying tolereneces between SKS rifles require fine tuning of these mags. Tapco states this on their site.
All mine have been filed in some or a few spots, with the exception of one. 5-10 minutes per mag and done. Research online.
I've heard of just as many feeding issues with the stock mags too. No one rifle is created equal.

Snide inquiries aside;
In real life, from first hand sources, not the anonymous internet playland.
Mainly due to the pinning and its affect on the follower.

On this note, I recently bought a 30/5 metal from westrifle, and it feeds two then jams. The follower doesn't pivot at all, so I am not sure if it can even be fixed with filing etc. Can anyone recommend a good 30/5 that feeds? I have heard good reviews about the promag ones? Thoughts? I know stock is best,but I am running it in an archangel stock, which looks meh with stock mag..

Compare the norinco rounds with others. I noticed when I did this that the bullet tip was slightly longer on the norinco. So to remedy my mag feeding problem, I filed down the front of the mag (just in front of the follower when the mag is empty) about 1/6". Took 5 seconds to do and now the cycle flawlessly!

I did this as I had lots of norinco ammo. The front tip of the bullet would catch the front of the mag when it was feeding.

Same problem same ammo. I Just bought two 5/20 Tapco magazines from the Calgary gun show. I'm looking to buy the new archangel stock when there in stores again. I'm wondering if my stock is pinching the mag so it doesn't feed, or will I have the same problem with the new stock. I would like to avoid filing it but if I have to I will. Any advice?

I had similar problems and asked here and was steered in the right direction on a fix.

Tight fitting mag or not able to fit it in at all, file these corners, see the stock one on the right and modded one on the left,

For the feeding issues, I sanded the inside edge of the feed lips on a taper so the bullets would be pointing forward but angled towards the centerline of the mag instead of perfectly straight ahead. To do this to perfection, I bulled the bullets on 5 rounds, dumped the powder, punched the primers and pressed the bullet back inside. I VERY CLEARLY marked these 5 rounds with paint marker and then used them to check feeding.
