I just received two expensive ($165.51 shipped) Mini 14 30/5 Tapco Gen II mags which are going right back to the dealer. These have the steel reinforcement at the top/front of the mag.
Difficult to insert empty and impossible to insert with the 5rd limit. Not too keen on the polymer mag lips either.
Anyone have similar experience with Tapco mags on any semi-auto rifle, Mini or Ar?
I note that they are blocked by an easily removed plastic insert, yet are considered "legal. Does this mean that any hi-cap mag with such an insert is "legal" as long as the device is in place?
