Ok I am new to 1022s my question, the tapco stocks have a rail on front, I was wondering if I could get a picatiny base for receiver, would a set mbus flip up sights work, would they be the same height? The 1022 I would be using has a standard barrel but no sights. I already have the sights and do not want to scope it. I thought I like the tapco stocks, and instead of getting a ati stock, or one of the ar looking ones with the full rail on top, I just could go tapco, cant tell from picture online if this idea will work?

Ok so maybe those sights won't work on tapco? Maybe it is weaver, if that's the case mbus flip up won't work? Looking at a fab defense stock belief it has a pic rail, should have researched better.

If you use the rail up front its not really attached to the barrel and there is a little bit of play/flex in the stock. I suggest you look into a set of williams receiver peep or tech sights to mount to the rifle/action instead. As for the forend rail either sand it flush or dont use it. I had the stock years ago they are fun but its not terribly rigid so would work quite well with irons or a low magnification scope.
