Considering the way TAPCO is mounting the SAW grip onto their 'Intrafuse' stock with a long screw... I'm just wondering how long before the threads in the plastic stock wear out.

I think it may be possible to drill that hole right the way thru to the top of the 'wrist' area of the stock (just aft of the receiver) replace the long screw with a BOLT, and put a lock-washer and acorn nut to hold the bolt tight and the grip on. Yes, you've got to look at that acorn, but you could pa :xint it to match your stock, or use an SS one. It just seems like it would be a more secure way of repeatedly removing and replacing your SAW grip over the long term.

Anybody tried this?

it dont have threads , the bolt like you says is more like for woods, like all plastic dont play too much with it

Once that 3/8" screw is threaded into the plastic stock, it certainly does have threads, and I'm lookin' at them right now (with the screw removed).
The screw cuts its own threads.
I know screws and plastic don't form lasting relationships--that's why I'm proposing this mod.
Do you know what I'm talking about? Do you have any experience with the Intrafuse stock?

I contacted Tapco about this issue a couple of years ago. Their answer was that if it failed, they would replace the stock under warranty. So far it has held just fine, but I don't shoot the SKS very much.
