hey, i just got my savage 10fcp hs precision, and i noticed that the holes for the scope base are slightly off ceter to the left is ti supposed to be this way or is this not right... i have no idea so i was hoping that someone would know, any and all help is welcome thanks

when i was looking for model 40 22 hornet I ended up contacting the distributor in edmonton. They had some but wouldn't sell them due to this same issue..

Maybe it wasn't limited to just the model 40s..

Thats why I won't own a Savage. Has a qc issue with them in the past but thats just me. Some here have good luck with them so I guess it's a crap shoot. You get what you pay for though, quality costs more I suppose.

take it back to the store you baught it from, savage will likely replace it for you if the holes are off center. they are a little touchy with their precission guns and really dont like bad publicity on them. (they had a large lot of them it seems where the threading reamer broke or stopped working and they got out the door)

given that, when you get one thats right, they shoot thumbtaks. they are a beutiful gun, ive seen quite a few people with them that shoot perfectly. so there are some that squeek out that are a lemon, but for the price (1100 or so) they go fast.

I was gonna jump all over that, but why.

People have posted that Remington isn't what they used to be. They are good for a base to build on, that is it. :p
